WSU Climate Change Discussion Panel

Presented by the WSU Environmental Science Club and WSU Environmental Sustainability Alliance, this multidisciplinary discussion panel is designed to inform students on the basics of climate change.

“Origins”

Cosponsored by the Moscow Food Coop, we will show this award winning documentary which challenges us to reevaluate our existence in the modern world. Meet us April 22, 7pm at the Kenworthy.

Building a Resilient Palouse Kickoff: “The Science of Climate Change, Future Projections, and the Global Response”

Tom Bitterwolf, PhD. will give an inspirational lecture about the science of climate change, future projections, and the global response. Meet us at the 1912 Center, April 24, 7pm – 9pm.

“Building a Resilient Palouse in the Age of Climate Change”

Experts in various fields will lead breakout discussion groups that examine local issues in the light of a warming world. We will also be showing “The World Set Free,” the climate change episode of the hit TV serial Cosmos, narrated by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Join us at the 1912 Center April 25, 9:30am – 3:30pm. Lunch provided.

“Someplace with a Mountain”

Our partners at the University of Idaho Sustainability Center will show this one-hour documentary about a group of Pacific Islanders who are losing their homelands to sea level rise. April 28th, 7pm, Kenworthy. No charge.

“Beyond Coal”

This public meeting will gather interested individuals to explore sustainable energy options in our area. Join us and our friends at the local Idaho chapter of the Sierra Club at the 1912 Center May 4th, 7pm.

Idler’s Rest Trail Cleanup

This third annual family event celebrates National Trail Day. Meet up with us and the Palouse Land Trust June 13, 9am – 11:30am at Idler’s Rest. Lunch will be provided.
