PESC Update – January 29

“Planet Ocean: Why the Law of the Sea Matters in 21st Century America”
(from Pat Rathmann) “Our UUCP friend and law professor Anastasia Telesetsky is giving a talk on “Planet Ocean: Why the Law of the Sea Matters in 21st Century America” This Wednesday at 12 noon in the Fiske Room. I plan on going. Maybe we can get her to give an evening presentation for our group.”

Palouse Region chapter of the “Citizens Climate Lobby” based in Moscow is being initiated by Rob Briggs and Pat Rathmann, co-chairs. CCL will send a representative here for the initial meeting, probably in March. We hope to draw as many people as possible to this meeting, from diverse backgrounds and political leanings. The CCL approach is to build relationships with congressional members (both republican and democrat), to write editorials for the press, and to support a fee on carbon at the source. http://citizensclimatelobby.org/
